Well, hello there. It’s been a while since you’ve heard from me, and I’ve missed you! While we can’t actually meet for coffee ☕️, we can pretend this is a little coffee/tea date. Since all of us are practicing social distancing, our next best thing is a brief virtual chat ☺️ How are you???

Coffee Date Chatting
As stated here, the past few months have been isolating and quiet. I figured that since we are now all in the same boat of sheltering in place, we could share what’s bringing joy (big or small) into our lives. If we were sitting across one another having coffee, what would you tell me is making your days manageable? Here is my list, and I can’t wait to hear about yours!
Morning Stretches
~I spend maybe ten minutes a few mornings a week doing some light stretching to loosen my muscles. I’ve never done yoga (though I love yoga pants! 🙃), but I do appreciate these short videos (I modify them some).
Podcasts
~I play podcasts when I’m on a walk or while getting ready for the day. I listened to both of these today, and they offer great tips amid COVID-19. The third one currently provides a daily meditation on Scripture, a quote, or the life of a saint to ground you in God and His peace.
Snacks
~I grab quick snacks to bring with me to my mom’s, and here are my current favorites:
- Baby carrots and sunflower butter
- This delicious hot tea
- Cashews or pistachios
Self-Care Routines
~If you know me well, then you know I thrive off routines. Rituals help me stay grounded when the world feels upside down and almost always bring me joy. Self-care routines for me look like reading Scripture, listening to worship music, a daily skincare regimen, long soaks in the bath, regular movement, burning candles, and eating nutritious meals.
- I currently love this playlist: Worship for Fierce Faith
- This invigorating face mask makes my skin feel so clean!
Sunrises, Sunsets, & Clouds
~The first thing I do almost every morning is throw back the curtains and watch the sunrise. From my bedroom window, I have a spectacular view of the sun appearing above the horizon. The pinks, oranges, purples, and blues wow me every time. I often look up during the day to stare at the clouds (and photograph them!) and glance out my living room window nightly to catch the sun setting over the trees. It’s a small practice that brings me great joy ❤️ Here are two photos to brighten your day, too!
That’s all I have for today. I have much more to share in an upcoming newsletter 🥰
So, tell me what things and practices you’d say (if we were on a real coffee date) are helping you get through sheltering in place. Please leave a comment and let me know! I would love to compile a list of ways to bring more joy into our lives and share the responses with you.
Love,
Natalie xo
