I love listening to love stories! It is fun hearing how couples met and fell in love.
This is a post about I how I met my husband and our love story.
We were the unlikeliest of couples. I was a bubbly, outgoing, extrovert studying Sociology while Tony was a quiet, introverted, serious student studying Mechanical Engineering. We lived in the same dormitory complex my freshman year and had many mutual friends, but did not know one another well. We recognized one another to say hello, but that was all. The following winter, a friend introduced us while at a party, and we struck up an easy conversation. We spent the remainder of the evening talking to each other. I thought he was the nicest guy I had ever met (he still is!) I was curious and wanted to know more about him.
After that night, I would spy on him studying in the library and pretend I was there for the same reason (funny, I know!). We would then “run” into one another at the library. I actually found myself studying more so that I could see him. We began talking more, getting to know one another better, and studying together. One day while at the library, he invited me to join him and some friends to watch a basketball game up north in San Luis Obispo. Our school was playing its rival, so it was going to be an exciting game. I went along and later that evening, he invited me to a pirate-themed party which was to be held the following month.
We had a great time at the party and began dating exclusively after that. That date was almost 31 years ago! Do you want to hear the cutest thing? My husband still carries in his wallet a photo of us taken on the night of the pirate party.
Here is that photo:
We dated exclusively for two years after that party, got engaged, and married six months later. We have been married for 28 years! He is the love of my life.

My husband and I met while in high school but went our separate ways after we graduated. We reconnected at the wedding of a mutual friend, and the rekindled our romance. We have been married for 17 years now and have 4 kids.

What a sweet story, Diana. Thank you for sharing 🙂

I met my husband, Travis, because my roommate at the time was matched with him on eharmony! They only went out once, she and I are still friends, and Trav and I got married two years later. Now we’ve been married for almost five years. It was quite a crazy story and something that has led to me writing quite a bit about dating to help others on their dating journey. I loved hearing your story! So fun to hear how you spied on him at the library and studied more. 😂

That’s a great story! So, eharmony can work, just not how he expected LOL! Thank you for sharing, Laura.

My husband and I met at a haunted house on the beach in RI with a group of friends. The next night a bunch of us went to a corn maze and then dancing. Then we saw each other nearly every day for the next two weeks..always with friends. Finally one night we were out and dropped a friend off together and we were alone for the first time..at a restaurant. He basically looked at me and said “Well..I guess we should just start dating” lol. And we did.! It was clear we were inseparable even in a group. The rest is history! We got engaged 9 months later and married 9 months after that! He’s the love of my life and my very best friend.

Oh I just love this!! I also love love stories! You both are adorable in that photo, a match made in heaven, and I love how you were the bubbly outgoing one who prompted the whole thing with your spying on him in the library. So precious!! I know you read my blog today but if you really want to read about how I met my husband, this is an earlier post about that.!! I wouldn’t be married if it wasn’t for a girlfriend…

I met Kevin at Supercuts when he came in to get a haircut after being on Christmas vacation to his family’s house. Three weeks later he came in again because being in the military, he needed to make sure his hair was ‘within regs’. When I saw him again, I asked the other gals to cut their patron’s hair really slow because I wanted to cut this guys hair again. The rest is history! He asked for my phone number, we started talking on the phone and then a few weeks later we went on our first date. We went to the movies, where I fell asleep (I warned him beforehand that I was tired due to working a lot), and Taco Bell.
Married 22 months later, 2 children, 1 granddaughter, 1 son-in-law, 1 daughter-in-law, and 30 years!

I love this story! Congratulations on 30 years of marriage! You have a beautiful family xoxo

Haha! My love story involves a library, too. Okay, so I promise I’m not trying to be spammy and unethical with this. I just did a live video on my page with my story though, so I’m going to give the link and then give some highlights: https://www.facebook.com/chaoticlifeoflauren/videos/1364113496974060/
I met him during the second day of our college orientation. We instantly clicked together. We were both homeschool alum and farm kids. I fell in love with him September of our freshman year when he asked me to hang out with him on campus (all of our other friends were in classes and his let out early). We started dating November of that year. Then, we got married between our Sophomore semesters.

I will need to go watch your video! It sounds like a cute story 🙂

My husband and I met at his work, while I was a PA for a local television show. We hit it off very quickly and then our different views of Jesus brought our relationship to a halt. Felt God telling me to be patient and step back as He was going to do a work on my husband’s heart. We just celebrated eighteen years of marriage and my husband has a shofar ministry, called Shofar Outreach where he shares the gospel with others, who like him before, don’t know about the greatest gift given.

It is wonderful to hear love stories that center around Jesus. Congratulations on 18 years of marriage! xo

Richard and I met on the slopes of Heavenly Valley in Tahoe, skiing. We were both actually taking an early lunch at a lodge on the slopes. We started talking and ended up skiing together all day. Not wanting the day to end, we found a boulder and sat there, way up high and watched the sun get lower over lake Tahoe. The ski patrol found us and yelled that the slopes were closed and we would need to ride the chair lift down. It was so gorgeous, riding down, facing the lake as it reflected all the colors of a glorious sunset.
He stole a quick, unexpected kiss. We laughed… I gave him my phone number… As we got to know each other, we found that we had both just accepted Jesus into our hearts within the previous month! We were married 3 years later and have remained that way for 28 years! He still loves to surprise me and take me on beautiful adventures. We still love Jesus and pray that our lives will bring glory to His great name.

Oh my gosh, Ruth, what a beautiful story! I love how God weaves lives together. Isn’t it fun to remember the beginnings and see where He has taken us? Thank you for sharing.
