You may read more about that here. “A fallen leaf is nothing more than a summer’s wave goodbye.”Unknown September is here, and it's time to wave goodbye to summer. There are just days left until autumn, but as the school year has begun, it feels like summer has already slipped away. I read this and thought it summed up perfectly what I hope for this month: "I am looking at September as a chance to know we cannot hold time, but we can savor the very moments we have in the present. I am living in gratitude for such a beautiful season, a healthy family, a chance to begin new, and welcome new routines with open arms. If September ... View Post

"When you rest, you catch your breath, and it holds you up like water wings."Anne Lamott Hello there, and happy summer. We are a month into my favorite season of the year, and as I mentioned in last month's newsletter, my family and I made a summer bucket list. While we have quite a few fun things planned, I also want to make sure we incorporate rest in our schedules. For many of us, when we think of summer, we think of lazy days, time near the water, picnics, barbecues, family reunions, and such. It's a season of slowing down and also ... View Post

Hello there and happy June to you. May was full of many good things 💗. As places opened up and my health improved, we have gotten out more. My husband and I tried a newer restaurant and liked it so well that we went back a second time. We also enjoyed weekly lunch dates at the park, went to watch our youngest play with a local band at a fun venue, celebrated Mother's Day, and set up our new fire pit. Our landscaping project is underway, and I've been spring cleaning with fervor. We are anticipating a fun summer with many plans made. See more about that below under the "What I've listened to ... How are you? April was a busy month around here. We began the month with Easter and ended the month celebrating our youngest's 21st birthday 🥳 My husband and I also went down to Laguna Beach for a conference, and one of the speakers was Bob Goff. He's an inspirational man who began a non-profit, spreads whimsy wherever he goes, and he encourages you to live your best life. That doesn't adequately describe who he is, so go check him out if you don't know of him. His first book, Love Does, is one of my favorites. Each month, I send out a much longer version of this type of post ... View Post

Hello there. It's the end of March and an important week for us Christians- Holy Week. I enjoyed this post from Ann Voskamp: When Holy Week is Far from Perfect. She writes, "After a year of losses, this Lent asks us to embrace the depth of loss and embrace all the Hope of God. Whatever we are facing this season, this Lent, this end of one surreal year, Hope is actually here. Whatever cross we’re carrying, it grows light when we let Jesus carry us. No matter how deep our waters, the waves won’t pass over us, because with Jesus, there is now only passing through." Amen ✝️ GOOD READS ... View Post

Somehow, it's almost mid-March, and this weekend we will be springing our clocks forward. I'm excited to share this month's offerings, including the time I had dinner with strangers while in Paris, a sweet essay on friendship, and some new favorites. Each month, I send out a much longer version of links and loves. The emails always include recipes and recommendations for random things like clothes, skincare, makeup, books, and such. It’s much more personal and is the place where I share more private topics with my readers. If you would like to receive that, you may sign ... View Post
